SUMMARY:EELISA Days at UPM! Elevator Pitch Contest ENGITREPRENEURSHIP 2023
DESCRIPTION:The ESCE Community at EELISA-UPM was created to work on ethics, social commitment, and entrepreneurship within the alliance of universities that comprise it. In this case, the Community has organized this unprecedented activity that combines a formative component in cross-cutting competencies with social action through solutions to current challenges with technological and social impact in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).\nThe target is Undergraduate students (all courses from 1st to 4th) or Master’s degrees from ALL UPM Schools, in addition to ALL students from the universities of the EELISA Alliance. The event will be in Spanish and English.\n \nThe ultimate goal of this initiative is threefold:\n–Teaching an innovative methodology for achieving creative results (design thinking) and prototypes that enable them to approach the social, business, and sustainable challenges of the planet.\n–Strengthening the knowledge of our young entrepreneurs by providing them with mentoring, enhancing their peer network, connecting them with stakeholders facing real problems, and\n–Encouraging them to propose business ideas that address current societal needs related to fundamental challenges such as climate change, poverty, integration, etc., through original creations that compete in an interesting elevator pitch competition.\nThis activity responds to SDG No. 4: Quality Education, SDG No. 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure and SDG No. 17: Partnerships for the Goals.\n \nThe planned activities include:\n-Theoretical and practical Design Thinking workshop.\n-Elevator Pitch development.\n-Elevator Pitch competition.\nThe presented activity aims to introduce students to alternative methodologies such as creative thinking, gamification, “learning by doing,” or the generation of extracurricular activities that immerse students in new ways of incorporating knowledge during their university experience.\n \nWHEN\nNovember 16 and 17, 2023\nDay 1: from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (school)\nDay 2: from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (school) and preparatory autonomous work, during the sessions and afterwards to prepare for the IEEE competition.\n\n\nWHERE\nOnsite, at ETSI Aeronautics and Space, UPM (Madrid) and online for members of the EELISA Alliance\n \nREGISTRATION DEADLINE\nNovember 15, 2023\n \nREGISTER HERE\n \n \n\n
