SUMMARY:#EELISAConnectWorkshop: City of Proximity – the power of local-based initiatives to boost urban transition
DESCRIPTION:How can we make our cities more sustainable and inclusive? Can we leverage the power of proximity to foster local-based urban transitions? Is there a way to collaborate with other researchers from different disciplines and countries to address these complex and interdisciplinary challenges?\nThese are some of the questions that will be explored in the workshop “City of Proximity: the power of local-based initiatives to boost urban transition”, organized by EELISA DISCOVERY. The workshop will take place in Madrid on March 18th & 19th, 2024, and will bring together an interdisciplinary team of researchers from the different EELISA universities.\nThe workshop is based on the concept of City of Proximity, which refers to the idea that the dimension of proximity is a powerful tool to formulate urban transition strategies that improve the quality of life and contribute to the decarbonisation of cities.
