SUMMARY:STUDENT-LED BOOTCAMP 2026: HACKATHON FOR A CIRCULAR CAMPUS
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Would you like to meet students from across the EELISA Alliance, form multidisciplinary teams, tackle real-world challenges, and prototype innovative solutions for a more sustainable and inclusive Europe? Then get ready for an intensive, hands-on learning experience—created by students, for students!\n Join the second edition of the EELISA Student-led Bootcamp, taking place 8–10 November 2026 at ZHAW in Winterthur, Switzerland.\nA university campus works like a small city. It needs a constant flow of physical resources (water, energy, heating) and daily consumables (food, paper, single-use plastics, lab materials, electronics). Today, much of this still follow a linear “take-make-dispose” model. To build a truly sustainable European identity, our universities must evolve towards a circular model – optimizing how we manage, track, and extend the lifecycle of every resource on campus. Taking the form of a hackathon, this year’s event will focus on developing an innovative and sustainable system to track, reduce, or repurpose the flow of daily consumables and physical resources within the university campus.\n \nWhat to expect\n– Over an intensive multi-day hackathon, this event will be chance for you to push your limits, develop key soft skills, and apply your knowledge to a real challenge while engaging with essential values like sustainability, social inclusion, and ethics.\n– By taking part in team-building activities, and inspiring sessions, you will: Collaborate across different fields, cultures, and universities.\n– Turn ideas into a working prototype under time pressure.\n– Pitch your solution clearly and make your ideas matter. Apply circular economy and resource efficiency principles to a real campus problem.\n– Reflect on sustainability, the UN SDGs, and active citizenship in Europe.\n \nFor Whom?\nStudents -from any degree and any field of study- currently enrolled in any EELISA partner institutions.\n \nWhy Join? \n– Join the European conversation: Meet and connect with students from all EELISA partner universities and share your thoughts on the future of education and Europe.\n– Learn by doing: Build skills in teamwork, prototyping, and pitching through an intense hands-on challenges\n– Make an impact: Get the tools you need to drive positive change in your university community and even beyond.\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1783076586048{margin-top: 20px !important;}”][vc_column][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1785240287118{border-radius: 10px !important;border-color: #D7673E !important;}”]How to apply\nApplications will be open from 7 July to 7 September 2026 ( https://digitalcampus.eelisa.eu/activities/4dc08bb2-9f4e-4b51-805e-a1ac9ad745b1 ). To be successful with your application, youw will need to:\n– Prepare a short video answering these three questions: \n1- How can you promote collaboration and unity among students across Europe\n2- If you could change anything, how would you make your university campus more sustainable?\n3- What does a multidisciplinary team need to turn a bold idea into a real prototype?\n– Upload the video in a platform of your preference and share the visualisation link within the “Extra Info – Tell us why you wish to apply”section of your application.  Please make sure that the link is active until 21 September!– In the “Upload ZIP file” section of your application please include a certificate proving your enrolment in one of the EELISA universities.\n– From all candidates, 3 Students from each EELISA member institution will be selected (and all expenses covered) to complete a total of 30 participants.\nSelected participants will be announced by 21 September 2026. [/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]\nWHEN\n8–10 November 2026\n( 3 days – as part of the EELISA Days commemoration and the EELISA Grand Meeting week)\nWHERE\nOnsite at ZHAW, Winterthur, Switzerland\n \nAPPLICATION DEADLINE\nEXTENDED UNTIL FRIDAY 11 SEPTEMBER 23:00 CET\n[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1783077809554{margin-top: 30px !important;margin-bottom: -10px !important;}”][vc_column][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1783078021861{margin-top: -10px !important;}”][vc_column][wpb_btn title=”FULL PROGRAMME AND READER HERE” align=”center” style=”flat” custom_text=”#FFFFFF” custom_background=”#E99998″ css=”.vc_custom_1793959297216{padding-top: 14px !important;padding-right: 20px !important;padding-bottom: 14px !important;padding-left: 20px !important;}” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Feelisa.eu%2Fevents%2Fstudent-led-bootcamp-2026-hackathon-for-a-circular-campus%2F”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_column][/vc_column]\n
