SUMMARY:#1 EELISA Disciplinary Broadening Workshop: “Cities & Communities”
DESCRIPTION:Join the first workshop of the EELISA Disciplinary Broadening Workshops Series that aims to nurture communities of professors, researchers, inventors, and entrepreneurs who are trained to work in teams, embedded in international networks and complex problems that require interdisciplinary solutions.\nThe “Cities and Communities” full-day event, organized by ITU, BME, and UPM, aims to define the state-of-the-art skills of today’s engineers, discuss and explore ways to enrich them, and materialize a vision of European engineering, by bridging and expanding disciplinary domains.\nWe are going to hear unique experiences from faculty, student, industry, and NGO representatives. Experiences around the skills of the future engineers, and the engineering skills needed by other professionals in the domain of “Cities and Communities”. We will also learn about some of the best practices to incorporate interdisciplinary challenges -linked to “Cities and Communities”- into the higher education system.\nThe workshop program will also contain parallel activities in breakout rooms both in the morning and in the afternoon in the following subtopics:\n. “Infrastructure & Mobility”\n. “Energy  & Climate Change” \n. “Culture & Inclusiveness”\n. “Buildings” \nIn the morning session, we will facilitate discussions on the skill gaps in the domain of “Cities and Communities” and the challenges/barriers in the successful implementation of innovative interdisciplinary education models.\nIn the afternoon session, we will brainstorm about innovative teaching and learning activities to address these challenges within interdisciplinary education in the domain of “Cities and Communities” and discuss potential bridging models and pilot proposals.\n  WHEN\nTuesday, October 26th, 2021 @ 8:00 – 16:10  (CET)\n \nREGISTER HERE\nYOU CAN ACCESS THE AGENDA FOR THIS EVENT HERE\n \n \n
