SUMMARY:Climate Change and Energy Transition Course
DESCRIPTION:Free course aimed at undergraduate students in their 3rd or 4th year, Master’s students and/or PhD students. Enrollment priority will be: ETSIME Bachelor, Master and Doctorate students, ETSII-UPM Energy Master students and EELISA students. The course will be taught entirely in English by Benoît LUC Senior Advisor and former Vice President of Total Energies Europe.\nThe main goal of this course is introduce students to the challenge of climate change and greenhouse gas emissions.\nYou will learn about:\nKnowledge of the scenarios and action plans recommended by international institutions to limit CO2 emissions.\nOperation and challenges of renewable energies.\nAnalysis of the energy mix and tools to compare energies from an economic, technical and environmental angle.\nEstablish actions to reduce CO2 emissions and develop appropriate renewable energies.\nFirst effects of Covid 19 on energy demand and the impact on CO2 emissions.\nHave a global vision of life cycle analysis.\nEvaluate the challenges of the Paris agreements and their decline in each country.\nClick here for more information\n \nWHEN\n14th and 15th of June 2022 / 9h-12h and 1:30h-16:30h (CEST)\n16th of June 2022 / 9h-12h (CEST)\nWHERE\nMadrid, Spain at the ETSIME-UPM (classroom M2-classroom30)\nREGISTRATION\nParticipation confirmation to: natalia.fonseca@upm.es\n
