SUMMARY:High-tech Entrepreneurship #1: Let’s do it seriously: going beyond the first steps and scaling up. How to deal with industrial and financial partners.
DESCRIPTION:To grow or not to grow? That’s the question. Sometimes the path to entrepreneurship is long and tricky, and it is important to be able to decide whether is better to own a small cake or a slice of a big one. Thus, it is important to learn how to deal with initial funders and how to work from a prototype to an actual product, while being able to find information and technical solutions.\nThis lecture will enter the ground of entrepreneurial motivations, explain different approaches on how to engage an industrial partner and bridging between them and the University.\n \nSpeakers\n–  Gioia Lucarini, CEO of Relief srl ( https://www.reliefsrl.com/ ) start-up since March 2019. She received her MS degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Pisa in September 2009. In the same year she joined the BioRobotics Institute of the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna as a Ph.D. student and in 2013 she obtained the Ph.D. in Medical Robotics.\n– Massimiliano Simi (MMI) is co-founder and Vice President of Medical MicroInstruments (MMI) SpA, ( https://www.mmimicro.com/ ) which developed the first teleoperated robotic platform for suturing in open surgery with wristed micro instruments.
