Real estate economics

WHAT

The real estate industry is a financial and economic key element in today’s societies. It is currently undergoing a significant change process triggered by recent crisis and mega trends, such as the sanitary (or covid related) crisis and the development of remote office working. New tenant needs, an unprecedented rise in construction costs, and most of all the pressing necessity of energetic transformation and decarbonization in the light of an accelerating climate change have added new challenges to the real estate sector.
The course’s objective is to transmit the economic and financial fundamentals of the residential and nonresidential real estate markets. The course will look at the real estate industry as a producing sector, the affiliated services, as well as its financial dimension, thus its management, its commercialization and its financing, all of this in the light of the current social and environmental challenges.
