Q. What is your purpose that motivates you to be/become an #EEnovator?
A. My purpose is to use technology to create sustainable solutions that make cities more livable. Growing up, I saw how urban challenges like pollution and traffic affect communities. Winning the “Most Sustainable Idea” for TransPoint at the EELISA hackathon fueled my drive to design tools like this app, which encourages eco-friendly public transport and empowers users to reduce their carbon footprint.
Q. What is innovation for you?
A. Innovation is about solving real-world problems with creativity and collaboration. For me, it’s designing something like TransPoint—an app that’s not just a tool but a fun, accessible way to change habits and promote sustainability. It’s about making a positive impact, no matter how small, through practical ideas.
Q. What have you learned on your innovation journey so far?
A. My first hackathon taught me the power of teamwork—my diverse team of six students from across the different European Universities - Urko Mendibil, Elena Filip, Emile Maes, Stan Bianca, and Juan Luis, brought unique perspectives that shaped TransPoint. I also learned to embrace challenges; I was nervous at first, but workshops and mentors helped me build confidence. Most importantly, I realized that innovation thrives when you combine passion with purpose.
Q. What do you wish for the Innovation Ecosystem of the future?
A. I hope for an ecosystem that supports young innovators with mentorship, funding, and collaboration opportunities. I’d love to see more events like EELISA’s Innovation Week, where students from different fields work together on global challenges like sustainability. The event showed me that sustainable cities start with collaborative, human-centered innovation. A future where diverse voices are heard and ideas are turned into action—that’s my vision.
