EEDays: Solutions for water challenges at Wetskills
Get ready for an immersive journey into water innovation! We would like to invite you to seize the opportunity and apply for a coveted spot at the Wetskills-Romania 2024 event. Following the resounding success of the last editions, Wetskills will organise its 7th event in this beautiful country. The program is scheduled to commence on 16 November with a teambuilding experience in Bucharest and will culminate in a grand finale featuring pitches and a poster market on 28 November. Afterward, the Awarding Ceremony will take place at the residence of the Ambassador of the Kingdom of The Netherlands.
The Wetskills Foundation and POLITEHNICA Bucharest extend a warm invitation to Bachelor, Master, PhD students, recent graduates, and young professionals who are enthusiastic about water, climate, and sustainability to apply for the Wetskills Challenge taking place in Romania. In a world where water issues are more crucial than ever due to persistent droughts, floods, and water quality issues, your innovative solutions to pressing Romanian water challenges are urgently required.
Joining this Wetskills Event – What do you get?
A unique learning experience where you will tackle real-life water challenges with your own team! You will develop expertise in international cooperation, problem-solving, cross-cultural understanding, and interdisciplinary teamwork.
– Hone your networking and presentation abilities through pitch and poster
– Take the opportunity to connect with other international water students/young professionals.
– Immerse yourself in the nice cities of Brasov (TBC, Bucharest and Constanta) exploring water-related sites and engaging with local water professionals.
You will learn and deepen your understanding of the Romanian water sector, gaining insights into key stakeholders, organizations, contemporary issues, and existing business opportunities. Upon program completion, you will receive a certificate of participation, officially joining the ranks of over 1300 Wetskills Alumni.
Participation requirements
The Wetskills Team will make a final selection among applications received, based on the quality of motivation & resume. We also consider a good diversity of the whole group (incl. backgrounds, local/international, gender balance, etc.). There are some last positions for this programme in Romania left. Who can apply?
Any Young Professionals (up to 5 years of working experience) and Bachelor (last year), Master and PhD students with a passion for water and intercultural teamwork from Romania, Europe and beyond with a passion for water & sustainability and intercultural teamwork.
How can I apply?
Prepare a motivation letter and resume, cfill out the online application form (link below) and submit it. The Wetskills Team will make a final selection among applications received, based on quality of motivation & resume. We also consider a good diversity of the whole group (incl. backgrounds, local/international, gender balance, etc.).
Costs
The participation fee for the Wetskills program is:
€ 60.- for local participants that already have accommodation in Bucharest
€ 325.- (excl. VAT, applicable only in Europe) for international and local participants needing accommodation in Bucharest during the programme. This fee covers accommodation (in a hostel, with shared rooms), team-building activities, some (but not all) lunches and dinners, field trips, workshops, working facilities, and the finals and awarding ceremony at the 27th Symposium “Environment and Industry’ by INCD ECOIND. (in Constanta). Participants are also responsible for their travel expenses (such as plane tickets and local transportation), meals on working days, and other personal costs.
