Discover how to dive into High-tech Entrepreneurship with this course
The HTE – High-Tech Entrepreneurship course is a 10-hour program designed to introduce PhD candidates, undergraduate students, post-docs, and young researchers from diverse disciplines—including STEM, Social Sciences, and Humanities—to the fundamentals of high-tech entrepreneurship. It is particularly suited for those interested in launching an innovative start-up or applying entrepreneurial skills within academia, industry, or research settings.
Coordinated by Professors Andrea Piccaluga and Alberto Di Minin from the Institute of Management at Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, the course provides participants with essential knowledge and practical competences in:
– Business planning and the process of creating new innovative ventures, especially those emerging from academic research.
– Intellectual property protection and patents.
– University-industry collaborations and contract research.
– Starting and managing high-tech start-ups and commercializing inventions.
– Developing a business model and business plan, with hands-on experience in preparing a start-up proposal.
Through an interactive, workshop-based approach, participants will develop a real start-up proposal, which they can use to apply for competitions such as Start Cup Toscana or other funding opportunities.
