Managing Innovation with John Bessant
What is innovation? Why is innovation important? Where does it come from? How do we deal with uncertainty? Where are spaces for innovation?
In order to better grasp this term and discover the multitude of possibilities behind it, FAU has developed the online course “Managing Innovation and Entrepreneurship” together with Professor John Bessant, exclusively for EELISA students.
Up to 75 students can join free of charge and embark on their innovation journey, working independently through 10 online modules over 12 weeks. Each module includes short explanatory videos, case studies, application tasks, and additional reading and learning materials tha will help students enhance their skills and achieve their future goals.
The course features three live online sessions, scheduled at the beginning, middle, and end of the program:
– October 24, 2024, 5:00 to 6:00 pm (CET)
– November 28, 2024, 5:00 to 6:00 pm (CET)
– January 16, 2025, 5:00 to 6:00 pm (CET)
Meet John Bessant
Originally a chemical engineer, Professor John Bessant has been active in research, teaching and consultancy in technology and innovation management for over 25 years. He has advised various national governments and international bodies, including the United Nations, The World Bank, and the OECD. He is also author of over 30 books and monographs and many articles on the topic and has given lectures widely around the world. His most recent books include Managing innovation (2018) (now in its 6th edition) Entreprenurship (2018) and ‘Riding the innovation wave’ (Emerald, 2017).
