Navigate with open and Online Education through this Blended Intensive Programme
Would you like to rethink how education is designed, delivered, and shared in an increasingly open and digital world? This is your opportunity to step into an evolving landscape where teaching and learning are reshaped through innovation and collaboration across borders.
This Blended Intensive Programme combines online learning with an on-site experience hosted by Istanbul Technical University (ITU), bringing together webinars, interactive lectures, and a face-to-face event. Designed as a 75-hour training, this initiative is tailored for early-career faculty, including teaching assistants engaged in Master’s or PhD studies, as well as MSc and PhD students and academic staff with teaching responsibilities. The initiative is designed to equip participants with the tools, frameworks, and perspectives needed to navigate—and shape—the future of open and online education.
Through a carefully structured learning journey, participants will explore the foundations of Open Education, gaining hands-on experience with digital tools and environments that support accessible and flexible learning. The programme goes beyond theory, encouraging attendees to actively refine course content, redesign syllabi, and rethink delivery methods in line with open education principles. In doing so, it places strong emphasis on practical implementation and real-world application.
A key component of the training lies in its collaborative dimension. Participants will work together to identify essential frameworks, workflows, and quality standards for designing effective open and online courses. This collective effort will culminate in the development of a shared manual and a charter, aimed at guiding institutions and partnerships toward more coherent and impactful educational practices.
At the same time, the programme fosters innovation by introducing new pedagogical approaches, including the integration of open tools and the exploration of artificial intelligence in engineering education. It creates a space for exchange—where novel ideas are tested, and experiences are shared among peers from across the EELISA alliance.
More than a training course, this initiative represents a platform for connection and co-creation. It offers participants the chance to engage with a network of educators and researchers committed to transforming education, while contributing to a broader movement toward openness, inclusivity, and collaboration.
For those ready to take an active role in redefining education, the invitation is clear: this is where ideas turn into practice, and where teaching evolves into a shared, forward-looking endeavour.
