ZHAW FoodTech Summer School: From unmet needs in the food system to a business pitch
In this 6-ECTS Summer School, students will take a deep dive into the world of proteins. Through visits to various players in the food system dealing with different types of proteins, students will identify the major challenges within the protein sector. Armed with these insights, students will develop and pitch a business or product idea that contributes to a more sustainable and regenerative food system.
The 12-day program provides practice-oriented insights and the opportunity to collaborate with an interdisciplinary team on a compelling business or product idea, along with a seed-stage business plan. As the FoodTech Summer School concludes, students will pitch their ideas in front of a jury of experts and receive valuable feedback.
Through this course, students will learn and be able to:
– Connect with important industry partners of the protein supply chain and gain valuable insights into their strategies and daily business
– Develop and pitch their group’s business or product idea
– Apply the design thinking method
– Collaborating with students from different departements and disciplines
– Participate in networking events with students from the summer camp
– Deepdive in the world of animal and plant-based proteins – nutritional-physiological, techno-functional and process-related aspects
