The Scuola Normale is a higher education institution with a special status. The teaching syllabus is organized into undergraduate and postgraduate (PhD) courses. The activity is divided into three Faculties: Humanities and Sciences (based in Pisa), and Political and Social Sciences (based in Florence).
Students are selected each year, through fierce competition, on the sole basis of their talent and potential; they are housed in colleges and they live and work together in a multi- and inter-disciplinary context of dialogue and collaboration, aimed at developing their potential and abilities.

Scuola Normale Superiore provides highly selective undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral education within an elite, research-intensive environment. While based primarily in Pisa and closely integrated with the University of Pisa, SNS also maintains a significant presence in Florence, strengthening its research and academic activities across both cities.
