Course on Technological Innovation & Entrepreneurship
Successfully commercializing a new technology requires more than creating a new device or process. Entrepreneurs and managers must be able to translate opportunity into a competitive advantage. This course examines theories of entrepreneurship and innovation and their application to real-world business opportunities. A particular focus is placed on emerging scientific and technical innovations and the opportunities and challenges they present to both existing businesses and new ventures. Students examine innovation strategies, planning models, evaluation models, licensing, and the commercialization process required to launch and sustain new businesses around innovative products and technologies.
