Type of offer Internship
Target Students
Location Budapest
Education requirements Ongoing higher education studies (software engineering or similar ) Excellent verbal and written English proficiency Tendency to work independently and/or in a team, flexibility Good communication and problem-solving skills, systems thinking Precision and detail oriented Knowledge in MS technology stack or AWS technology stack Experience in programming languages like C#, C++, C, Python, Java, Java Script

Interoperability of loadings, geometry and calculation results between 3D model and Finite Element Model.
Type of offer Internship
Target Students
Location France
Education requirements Good knowledge of civil design, BIM and programming (Python). The internship requires a good level of problem-solving and critical thinking skills as well as autonomy and communication skills.
Key Description Edvance, owned by EDF and Framatome, is Nuclear Island EPCC (Engineering / Procurement / Construction / Commissioning) for EDF Group’s new nuclear reactors.
The internship will take place within Structural and BIM teams. It is part of the activities related to the subject of EDF digital transformation and standardization of new nuclear. It is important to ensure uniqueness of data and continuity of information, this standardization approach will be made available on the EPR2 project.
In this context, the objective of this internship is to study the interoperability between Allplan (BIM software) and ANSYS (Finite Elements software) through the export of project load cases, as well as to carry out monitoring and model control.
This 3D processing by the centralization of information and this interoperability between BIM software and FEM calculation software will allow us both gains in model quality, financial efficiency and planning by all actors, throughout of the project life cycle.

Design/BIM interface optimisation for anchorages
Type of offer Internship
Target Students
Location France
Education requirements Good knowledge of civil/mechanical design, BIM and programming (Python).
The internship will take place within Structural and BIM teams and will be focused on embedded parts (anchorages).
Anchorages are all the items at the interface between civil works and mechanical and electrical disciplines. They represent thousands of elements for each Nuclear Island divided into several families (pre-embedded anchor plates, post-installed anchor plates, prestresses anchors, sleeves, frames, …).
The aim the internship will be the optimization of the process managing the interface between the design of anchorages and BIM tools.
It will include:
The automatic detection of the surrounding environment within BIM model.
The link with calculation tools and the generation of design reports.
The management of the configuration within the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tool.

Game-theory and mechanism design for optimal decarbonization plan
Type of offer Internship
Target Students
Location France
Education requirements Maths & Economics
Key Description Currently, French government has delegated the CO2 emission ”management” (e.g., setting their own CO2 emissions target for 2050) to the regions and, because of the lack of coordination between them, the global CO2 reduction target is very likely to be largely missed, hence a crucial need to introduce and design coordinated decentralized emission strategies. It turns out that the state-of-the art of the scientific literature is incomplete for at least 3 reasons: 1. It focuses on this type of problems but only at the level of the countries (see the problem of agreement for the Conferences of Parties); 2. The proposed solutions are often empirical and do not rely on key mathematical properties that would guarantee the players to effectively implement the agreements; 3. The socio-economic modeling problem for a region largely differs from that at the country level.
The following internship project aims at modeling the complex relationships between local consumers, regions and national authority in this problem of designing efficient decarbonization plan/mechanisms.

This internship being part of a PGMO research project, it offers some practical flexibility, the objective being that:The majority of the internship be done at Nancy (academic Lab.);
With significant part (around 2 months) at EDF Lab. Paris-Saclay (to connect with ”research-engineers” working on decarbonization).
Details to be discussed and fixed with the supervisors.
