EELISA Days Exhibition – “The Lives of Marble”
The ancient sculpture has been traditionally studied with a conservative, historical-artistic approach. The interdisciplinary exhibition “Le vite del marmo: sculture del Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Firenze nella Villa Corsini a Castello” proposes a new and innovative to way to delve into this art, merging both a historical and scientific approach.
This exhibition will be held in the building that houses the library of the SNS from the 18th of October to the 20th of December, and will offer special activities to commemorate EELISA Days.
This project has been led by Professor Adornato and developed by researcher and Phd in classical archeology Alessia Di Santi, who manages the historical-artistic study and research of the collection, and Martina Borroni, a conservation scientist who works at the interdisciplinary research and training centre of the SNS “National Enterprise for nanoScience and nanoTechnology” (NEST) and manages the investigation of material that have been historically used in the sculptures.
