“Innovation & Leadership” Master Course for EELISA students
In this course, students will be organized in large groups of 15 to 20 people to solve real-life challenges posed by the highest-tiers of our university or associated companies. This structure consciously mimics the challenges and constraints of corporate settings, in which teams are usually dependent on other teams and an overarching divisional structure.
We expect this setting to prepare students better for real-life situations. Moreover, this group setting creates opportunities for international students to quickly get to know other local and international students.
The aim of this course is twofold: Firstly, the course delineates and describes different yet emerging innovation tools, organizing them into a coherent set of classes. Each class of tools is described using a set of up-to-date business cases that depict the current status of the information systems.
The second aim of this course is to get an overview of how to structure leadership systems towards innovation, how leaders can foster innovative thinking and what new forms of innovation (e.g. open innovation) mean for the definition of leadership.
The examination process in order to pass the course will consist on a presentation and the writing of a group and individual paper.
