Think Tank at the European Space Agency organised by Sustainable BCC Community!
The ESA-ESAC – SUSTAINABLE BCC Think Tank is an educational activity organised to promote innovation and generate fresh ideas to launch a comprehensive sustainable refurbishment of the European Space Agency (ESA) building “A” in Spain.
Together with ESA-ESAC, SUSBCC has organised a high-impact activity consisting of a large think tank, with the collaboration of students and the support of professors, researchers, and professionals. The aim is to undertake a comprehensive rehabilitation operation in the spirit of the New European Bauhaus and with the triple bottom line approach of sustainability: social, economical, and environmental.
This is a lifetime experience where students can collaborate with other EELISA colleges in Madrid, work alongside experts and professionals, and enjoy many other experiences such as a farewell party or a visit to the control and monitoring headquarters for ESA’s space telescopes and planetary missions.
This activity will take place in hybrid format, with the participation of over 300 students, 50 of which are expected on-site at ESA-ESAC headquarters in Villanueva de la Cañada.
Students will participate on 6 different think tanks: 4 will be working in parallel under the same topic, the three pillars of sustainability; one cross-cutting think tank on digitalisation; and one collective think tank on integration through the New European Bauhaus Spirit.
Students who register for the activity (fees’ free) can chose to participate either face-to-face or remote format, prioritising one or more of the parallel think tanks, which will allow them to acquire 2 ECT+2 Badges. Students will also have the opportunity to only sign up for individual workshops of their interest, which will allow them to earn 1 badge if they attend 3 workshops or more; and 2 badges if they complete 6 workshops or more.
All students above the second year are welcome to participate without prerequisites of knowledge or field of study required.
