Online conference by the EELISA Community: Innovation and Design in European Engineering Education (IDEEE)
A growing consensus is developing in the design community that we collectively need new design paradigms to face current challenges. Indeed, from one side, we are currently in a period of intensive innovation characterized by an acceleration of the renewal of products and services. On the other side, the current transitions ahead of us (energetic, demographic, numeric…), call for the implementation of new design practices by engineers, scientists, and managers.
Historically, unprecedented needs for new design activities led to a renewal of both design theories and engineering corpus. The IDEEE community reflects upon the current evolutions of innovation and design in European engineering education through the organization of regular thematic-based conferences.
In this second conference of the IDEEE Community, we explore the new ways of articulating design with engineering education. To do so, we invited Aldert Kamp, Immediate past Director of Education TU Delft and 4TU Center for Engineering Education and Olivier Potier from the University of Lorraine.
Aldert Kamp will deliver a lecture entitled “How else can we think about the key elements of higher engineering education?”
Olivier Potier will deliver a presentation entitled “How to design theory supports chemical engineering teaching and learning: empirical evidence from a French school of engineering”
Both presentations will be discussed and will to an open debate within the audience.
