
Dive into the world of archaeology and explore the ruins of Agrigento with this seasonal school
We are excited to announce the Fourth Summer School “Archaeology & Architecture,” which will take place in Agrigento at the UNESCO World Heritage archaeological site of the Valle dei Templi, from September 1st to October 5th, 2025.
This programme offers an engaging and multidisciplinary experience including lab sessions, on-site teamwork activities, as well as site and museum visits in a stimulating and multidisciplinary learning environment. Participants will be introduced to the world of Archaeology and Architecture applied to archaeological contexts and sites, with the purpose of tackling the following issues:
-What is Archaeology?
-How does an archaeological excavation work?
-How are Architecture and material data analysed and documented?
-How does 3D-modeling apply to Archaeology and Architecture?
-How does virtual reality visualize and disseminate archaeological and architectural data?
APPLICATION
All EELISA universities are invited to apply!
Places are limited to 15 participants, and selection will be made by the scientific committee based on applicants’ backgrounds and registration order.
COST
Participation and registration are free of charge. However, travel, food, and accommodation expenses must be covered by the participants or their institutions. Please note that car rental for transportation to the archaeological site is necessary.
