Join #EquipoMédulaUPM and save lives next November!

The Marrow Universities Tour is launching a campaign that promotes information about bone marrow donation in public universities in Madrid. The campaign will take place in various UPM faculties.

UPM, in collaboration with the Community of Madrid’s Transfusion Center, will carry out the #EquipoMédulaUPM informational campaign among students to raise awareness about the importance of being part of the bone marrow donor database. A unit from the Transfusion
Center will visit several faculties during the second half of November to provide information on the requirements and collect blood samples from those who wish to register as potential donors.

The #EquipoMédulaUPM campaign began in 2019 at the initiative of UPM, and thanks to the work of approximately 100 student volunteers who were previously trained by the Health Department (Consejería de Sanidad), they have managed to increase the number of bone
marrow donors by approximately 2,000 people. Subsequently, various public universities in Madrid joined the Marrow Team.

The bone marrow donation campaign initiated at UPM is supported by the EELISA TechDiplomacy Community and is aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 3 of the 2030 Agenda: Health and well-being. This SDG has the goal of promoting donation at all levels, in a voluntary and responsible manner, to save lives. At UPM, we have already demonstrated that with commitment, it is possible.”
