Be part of the EELISA Diplomacy Summit 2027
Are you interested in European security policy, the dynamics of NATO and EU decision-making, or how media shapes diplomatic crises?
Do you want to negotiate as a Delegate, respond to live crisis updates, or report on summit proceedings as part of a student Press Corps?
Then apply now for the EELISA Diplomacy Summit 2027 – a BayernMUN Conference!
Organised within the EELISA European University Alliance and embedded in the established BayernMUN conference format, the EELISA Diplomacy Summit (EDS) is a simulation-based learning activity that brings together students from across Europe as both participants and organisers to explore diplomacy, international security, and media resilience through interdisciplinary policy simulations.
Throughout the Summit, participants strengthen skills in negotiation, crisis management, stakeholder coordination, strategic communication under pressure, policy-drafting, public speaking, English proficiency, and the identification of disinformation.
The EDS consists of three modules:
Module I – Preparatory Phase (Online/Hybrid)
– Training Weekend I: 24–25 October 2026
– Training Weekend II: 28–29 November 2026
– Position Paper: due 31 December 2026
– Preparatory Research: due 21 January 2027
Two intensive hybrid seminars prepare delegates for the summit. International law and political science professors introduce participants to the committees, topics, and policy concepts. Speech and negotiation trainers advise delegates on their conduct in committee, while faculty advisors and MUN alumni explain simulation dynamics and conduct small-scale simulations during training sessions.
Module II – EELISA Diplomacy Summit (In-Person, Nuremberg)
– Summit: 22–24 January 2027
The in-person summit takes place at the Imperial Castle Nuremberg and the Heilig Geist Hall. It features European Council and NATO Council committee sessions, a staffed crisis backroom, a student-led Press Corps, a hybrid Security Expert Panel with practitioners from EU, NATO, OSCE, and the Munich Security Conference, and an EELISA Townhall. Keynotes, workshops, and an EPSO presentation on EU career paths complement the programme.
Module III – EELISA Student Policy Paper (Online)
– Due: 28 February 2027
Participants produce a final written output in the form of a policy brief, press report, or reflection paper, consolidating the results of the conference and reflecting on their learning experience.
