Yesterday April 19, the second EELISA Governing board meeting, and first with the enlarged governance, was held online. For the first time, and in addition to the Rectors, Directors, and Presidents from the member institutions, the new EELISA Coordinator Julio Lumbreras, and EELISA Executive Director Sofia Costa d’Aguiar, this session was honored by the presence of external counselor and Harvard Scholar Dr. Wendy Purcell, the representative of EELISA’s associate partner ENAEE and ENAEE Vice-President José Carlos Quadrado, along with the elected EELISA representatives of students, faculty/researchers, and staff. An inspiring debate around the strategy and vision of EELISA at this pivotal stage prompted highly constructive thoughts on issues such as inclusion, social impact, European values, or committed citizenship. The result: an official declaration endorsed by all the attendants with the aim of helping the EELISA vision gather momentum.
