For International Women in Engineering Day 2026, we asked women across the EELISA alliance one question. Their answers came from ten universities, eight countries, and different levels of seniority in science and engineering.
The question was the same for everyone: What would you tell your younger self about choosing a career in engineering or science?
The women who answered are students, researchers, and leaders. Some spoke about doubt, others about the people who believed in them first. Collectively they said something about what it means to be a woman in engineering today, and about what’s worth passing on to those who come next.
