How do we measure innovation? What is the connection between intellectual property rights regimes and innovation? Which are the most effective tools to foster innovation in different contexts? These are some of the questions tackled in SSSA´s Seasonal School program on “Economics of Innovation and Technological Change”
SSSA’s Seasonal Schools are training programs “of excellence”, which are strongly interdisciplinary, and focused on frontier research topics. In particular, the Seasonal School on “Economics of Innovation and Technological Change” will address both the theoretical and the empirical underpinnings of the economics of innovation and technical change, as well as recent debates at the frontier of the field. The topics covered include technological paradigms and trajectories, innovation and firm strategies, sectoral patterns of innovation, analysis of patent data, innovation and economic growth, innovation and competitiveness, innovation and intellectual property rights.
This seasonal school will be delivered in English to a maximum of 20 attendees at the premises of the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, in Pisa, Italy, from July 19 to July 23, 2021. Duration: 40 hours ( 4 ECTS), including the final learning assessment test.
This is a special call for all EELISA students enrolled in a Bachelor degree, Masters’ Degree, or PhD course at an Italian or a foreign university, and who are on track relative to the examinations required by their educational institutions and with an average examination mark at least equal to 27/30 in the Italian system, or at least B in the international system. A self-certified knowledge of English at or above B2 level is required.
Admissions are based on the eligibility criteria and a first-come-first-served mechanism.
- The Scuola will cover the registration and attendance costs, including tutorship and reference material, and the subsistence (lunch/dinner at the canteen of the Scuola for the entire length of the course) for a maximum of 8 students affiliated with an EELISA university partner, including SNS.
