“Do you want to inspire people around the world to make the change happen? Take your camera and highlight the world’s largest citie’s challenges and initiatives”. This is the departing invitation of Megacities Short Docs – a festival that has been exposing the work of over 500 filmmakers since 2014.
This outstanding festival presents a great selection of 4-minute films portraying citizens’ involvement, situations to be denounced, or great accomplishments to bring effective solutions to MegaCities’ challenges and inspire people to take action to improve the life of MegaCities’ citizens.
The 8th Edition of the festival, which takes place between 1 – 15 December 2022, brings big news: EELISA, thru its entrepreneurial wing EELISA Unfolds – will award an “Entrepreneurship & Innovation Honorary Recognition” to the film that best portrays topics related to EELISA’s mission – such as sustainability (aligned with the SDGs), impact entrepreneurship, ethics & technology, as well as those that offer a special focus on gender equality, inclusion, cooperation, and cooperation between STEM, humanities and arts.
Through this special mention, EELISA will support the winning filmmakers to travel to Paris and be part of the Festivals’ Awards Ceremony in Paris on the 15th of December, 2022.
This collaboration between the organization Films4sustainableworld and EELISA Unfolds seeks to give recognition to the fields of Innovation and Entrepreneurship regarding the sustainability of the cities.
This is also part of the EELISA Loves Arts – an initiative that aims to spotlight the accomplishments of STEM/SSH & Arts endeavors; to reinforce an education that widens traditional disciplinary skills of tech teachers/students; and to expand collaborations with cultural organizations and events that share the same vision and values of our EELISA.
** The EELISA INNOVATION & ENTREPRENEURSHIP HONORARY MENTION WINNER has been the Indonesian short film The Rain Collector by Jeffri Kaha
