Providing spaces for student participation, amplifying their voices, and offering them unique, hands-on learning and mobility experiences are fundamental pillars of EELISA’s vision. By fostering engagement, collaboration, and real-world exposure, EELISA empowers students to become active contributors to both academic and professional communities, shaping the future through their perspectives and expertise.
Building on this commitment—and expanding on previous initiatives led by the EELISA Communication Office and Network, such as the Speakout Campaigns of 2022 and 2023 and the ongoing opportunity to share experiences through EELISA Narrators articles—we are now taking a step further with the creation of EELISA Student Reporter teams. These teams will play a vital role in capturing and sharing insights from major EELISA events, ensuring that student voices remain at the forefront of the conversation.
As a pilot experience of this initiative, EELISA, in collaboration with its partner institutions Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME) and POLITEHNICA Bucharest, is launching the first call for EELISA Student Reporters to cover the 3rd EELISA Scientific Student Competition (Bucharest, 12-13 June, 2025). Through this call, three selected students from BME and three from POLITEHNICA will join to form the first EELISA media content creators’ team to capture and share key moments, insights, and student perspectives during this EELISA flagship activity.
Before the event, the students will take part in two interactive workshops. The first one will count on the participation of journalists and social media and communication experts. A second session will provide students the opportunity to develop and present their creative proposals for content creation.
Thus, this pioneering initiative serves a dual purpose: it offers students training and hands-on experience in science communication and media content creation, while also providing a platform for them to amplify their voices and share their unique perspectives on a student-driven scientific event.
This opportunity is open to students of any level and field of study who have a passion for science communication and an interest in creative fields such as photography, graphic design, video, audio, and creative writing.
It is time to show the world your creative side!
