For the third consecutive year, the EELISA Joint Pedagogical Support Programme offers Academic Staff a series of courses that will help them boost their teaching methods.
Following the success of the first edition, the EELISA Joint Pedagogical Support Programme (JPSP) returns, with a new batch of programmes designed to foster innovative teaching, support faculty development, and enhance student learning through collaborative and cutting-edge methodologies.
This initiative is part of the efforts carried out by the EELISA Innovative Teaching and Learning Hubs working group, aiming to integrate technology while promoting interdisciplinary collaboration, to catalyze educational transformation among EELISA institutions.
If you are a teacher affiliated with an EELISA institution and are interested in enhancing your teaching practice, you can join this second cycle of training events, available from February to April. All training opportunities are accessible remotely. Please note that enrolment is limited for some training, and selection will be based on specific criteria set by the organiser. Successful completion of any training will be recognised through EELISA Credentials.

This blended intensive programme supports students in developing practical strategies for academic resilience, stress management, self-regulated learning and learning autonomy. Participants explore both digital and analog tools that can help them structure learning processes, monitor stress and recovery, reflect on personal resources, and develop sustainable routines for studying and academic work.
The programme combines an asynchronous online phase with an on-site week in Erlangen. Online work introduces key concepts and reflection tasks, while the in-person phase focuses on application, peer exchange, guided exercises and practical activities. The programme brings together self-leadership, responsible use of AI and digital tools, mindfulness, meditation, beginner-level yoga and recovery-oriented approaches.
Learning outcomes
– Understand central concepts of stress, self-regulation and recovery in academic settings.
– Develop realistic strategies for planning, monitoring and adapting one’s own learning.
– Reflect critically and practically on the role of AI and digital tools in academic work and stress regulation.
– Create an individual action plan for sustainable study routines and recovery practices.
The activity encourages interdisciplinary exchange and requires no previous experience with yoga, mindfulness, meditation or digital tools. The on-site part is hosted by Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) in Erlangen.

Main Goal
To support new teachers in designing learning experiences that enhance student learning.
Presentation
During this training, based on the book Course Design, A Visual and Modular Approach, participants will (re)design one of their courses, from its content to its assessment strategy, by working through intended learning outcomes and teaching and learning strategies in order to comply with the principle of constructive alignment.
The training consists of seven synchronous online sessions of three hours each, held between 24 September 2026 and 21 January 2027, and taking place on Thursday mornings. Individual online meetings with a trainer are available on demand.
Learning outcomes and programme
By the end of the training, participants will be able to apply principles of student-centred learning design to develop their own course and draw on exchanges with peers to improve their teaching. The seven sessions cover teaching philosophy, key course concepts and context, intended learning outcomes, course content, teaching/learning/assessment strategies, course scenario design and presentation of the created lesson plans.
Participants who complete the practical assignment receive a training completion certificate. New teachers are expected to attend all online workshops.

The Public Speaking training provides participants with a comprehensive understanding of the theoretical and practical foundations of effective communication. Through hands-on practice and personalised feedback, participants strengthen their awareness of the key components of successful presentations, learn strategies to manage anxiety and stress, and improve their confidence when speaking in front of an audience.
The training also introduces different teaching methods and provides guidance on selecting an appropriate approach according to the content and learning objectives. By the end of the module, participants are expected to have greater awareness of the core components of public speaking and to be able to plan and deliver a more effective presentation.
Format and participation
The course consists of two in-person modules (20 hours in total), delivered in English at Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna. Each module has a maximum of 12 participants: up to 8 participants may be selected from EELISA partner universities and the remaining 4 from Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna. Because of the practical nature of the course, remote participation is not available.
The target audience includes students, staff, researchers and faculty. Participants who complete the practical assignment receive an EELISA credential through the EELISA Digital Campus.

Challenge-Based Learning (CBL) offers a practical response to rapid technological change, evolving professional practices and increasingly complex real-world problems. By engaging learners in meaningful challenges, it integrates disciplinary knowledge, skill development, collaboration, reflection and action, while helping learners use technology—including AI—to support rather than replace learning.
This two-day interactive workshop introduces CBL by combining direct experience with practical design. Participants first experience CBL as learners by working through a real challenge, and then apply what they have learned to design CBL experiences for their own courses and programmes. The workshop is part of the EELISA Co-Learning Lab.
Participants will
– Experience the Engage, Investigate and Act phases of CBL.
– Explore how CBL supports learning in the age of AI.
– Examine the role of inquiry, collaboration and authentic assessment.
– Design a CBL experience appropriate for their own context and leave with an implementation blueprint and next steps.
The workshop is delivered face-to-face at İTÜ Ayazağa Campus in Istanbul and is limited to 50 participants. Applicants are asked to complete and upload the required application form when registering. Trainers: Mark Nichols and Stefano Perna (The Challenge Institute).
