Starting Monday, 17 of November, the halls of ITU will be buzzing with activity as members of the EELISA Governing and Executive Boards, EELISA Student Council, staff representatives, and work teams come together under one roof. More than 130 participants will take part in this important onsite gathering marking key steps towards “EELISA 3.0.” , as the Alliance advances towards its goals of expansion, consolidation, and long-term sustainability.
New Chairing Institution and New Partners
Continuing EELISA’s six-month rotating chairship tradition, Anthony Briant, Director of ENPC, and El Mouhoub Mouhoud, President of the Université PSL will ceremonially pass the symbolic “EELISA ruler” to ITU Rector Hasan Mandal EELISA Handover Ceremony on Tuesday, November 18. This symbolic act reinforces the Alliance’s spirit of shared leadership.
The Board will also officially welcome two new associated partners to the Alliance — the University of São Paulo (Brazil) and the Technical University of Moldova — marking an important step in expanding EELISA’s international reach and strengthening its global partnerships.
Reflecting on this milestone, ITU’s Rector Hasan Mandal says: “As we welcome the EELISA Grand Meeting to Istanbul, I am delighted to host this milestone gathering at ITU and to take on the chairship at such a pivotal moment. Our focus in the coming term will be to anchor EELISA more firmly within our institutional strategies. We aim to empower our students while further engaging our academic and administrative staff, and to foster vibrant mission-driven communities with greater societal visibility and impact”.
A Special Closing Focused on Research and Student Leadership
Two special events will serve as the perfect finale to what promises to be an intense and highly productive series of EELISA meetings. On the one hand, a Special Meeting of EELISA Research Managers, led by the ERMI EELISA Community together with the Alliance’s dedicated working group for research.
