EELISA invites academics, researchers, and teaching staff across its partner institutions to collaborate on innovative educational projects that shape the future of European higher education.
What’s the opportunity?
The launch of the 1st EELISA Joint Academic Call marks an important step in turning a shared vision into tangible educational innovation. Rooted in the EELISA Joint Education Roadmap, this call invites academics to move beyond ideas and into action—co-creating learning experiences that reflect the future of European higher education.
Through this initiative, academic teams are supported in the design, development, and pilot implementation of ECTS-bearing activities that are not only innovative, but also practical and scalable. The ambition goes further than a single course or collaboration: it is about building high-quality academic offerings that can be replicated, adapted, and embedded across curricula throughout the alliance.
What are the Funding Streams Available?
To achieve this, and with a total budget of €237K, the call supports a range of programme formats:
- Pairing (up to €5,000): light, flexible collaboration where courses are connected across institutions without changing core learning outcomes
- Joint Courses (up to €8,000): fully co-designed and co-taught courses with shared learning objectives and coordinated delivery
- Micro-credentials (up to €10,000): short, targeted, and certified learning experiences responding to emerging skills needs
- Aligning Degrees (up to €3,000): adapting existing programmes to reflect the EELISA European Engineer Profile and provide them with visibility at Alliance level
- Joint Degrees (up to €15,000): ambitious, long-term collaboration to create fully shared degree programmes through a two-stage development process
What are we looking for?
Projects that:
- Bring together at least two EELISA institutions (except degree alignment actions)
- Deliver pilot implementations with strong replication potential
- Contribute to innovative, accessible, and cost-effective education
- Integrate seamlessly into existing curricula
- Embrace virtual and blended learning approaches where possible
Why apply?
